MIAMI MARLINS BASEBALL PARK
Project Year 2012
Contractor: Crown Corr
Architect: Populous (formerly HOK Sport)
Dreamwalls Color Glass backpainted glass in bright red in the Taste of Miami - a unique food court at Miami Marlins Baseball Park. Behind third base; the ballpark is drenched in a vibrant red, and that, is where the Taste of Miami food court is located. This unique food court allows visitors to sample authentic Miami restaurants that feature a variety of Cuban and South American cuisines.
Dreamwalls Color Glass was used along the back wall all 4 of these restaurants because if its practicality in clean up as well as the vibrancy of the color through glass. Utilizing low-iron glass as the base, creates less green tint in the glass, allowing warm colors like the red used here to stay true without being neutralized by their complementary color.
When asked why Dreamwalls Color Glass back painted glass was ultimately chosen for this opportunity, Scott Swanson of Crown Corr stated, “The project manager had worked with another supplier that we just weren’t comfortable with using for this job. You guys had all the requirements – like testing and compatibility – right there."
This ballpark was the first retractable roof ballpark built to strict LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Silver standards.
Gardner Glass Products is proud to be a part of the revolutionary Miami Marlins Park with Dreamwalls Color Glass back-painted glass product.
